From jhun arco "ung mga paring katoliko… bkt may naitutulong ba kayo sa mga batang lansangan pra mag karoon sila ng magandang buhay.. na pang habangbuhay....."

Are you that ignorant that Catholic churches and convents finances poor children for their education? Have you heard CARITAS MANILA and countless Catholic organizations helping the poor? They're better off helping them than any governement officials.

Another thing, if population growth is a hindrance to economy, why is it that China, with 1 billion people, how come they are getting richer? Do you know why? I know- cz investors from all over the world are scrambling to penetrate the chinese market because of CONSUMERS. MORE CONSUMERS,MORE PRODUCTS TO SELL!

EMPLOYMENT, not preventing children, is the answer. Do you think by giving them free condoms and pills makes any difference? Granting, the mother won't conceive na,will it put food to their tables?

Also, you mentioned that there are many millions of people in the Philippines. That is true. But consider Japan which is much more densely populated than the Philippines. Notice how their economy is consistently ranked second or third in the world (by GDP). This disproves the theory that the Philippines is poor because it is overpopulated.

Jhun,

Thanks for commenting. I cannot respond to the Tagalog portion of what you wrote because I do not speak Tagalog but as for the English portion, I did not say that population growth is the answer to poverty. I said population control is NOT the answer to poverty.

Our goal should be to eliminate whatever causes poverty. Our goal should NOT be to eliminate poor people. That would be like discovering that your hand had been infected with a rash and deciding to get rid of your rash by cutting off your hand. Yes, it will get rid of the rash, but that is not the solution. Likewise, killing poor people will certainly reduce the number of people affected by poverty. But in no way will it help solve the actual problems that are causing poverty. That is why population control and other immoral means should not be employed to try and deal with the problem.

Thanks for stopping by.
