97 Cents of Every Dollar Went to the Poor

Our fiscal year runs from April 1st to March 31st. In the first quarter of this fiscal year, we had a program expense ratio of 97%. That means that 97 cents out of every dollar went to program services: feeding the poor, education, etc. Only 3% was used for administrative and fundraising expenses. Being a small organization and having an executive director who doesn’t earn a salary is what enables our expenses to stay so low. One of our goals as an organization is to be efficient and fiscally responsible.
